MINSKOFF THEATRE
A grand, modern Broadway house inside One Astor Plaza on West 45th Street, in the heart of the Theater District.
Since 2006 the home of Disney’s The Lion King, one of the longest-running and most beloved productions in Broadway history.
Julie Taymor’s staging fills the whole room — the animals process through the auditorium itself.
Three levels, and a show that uses every inch of the room.
The main floor — the closest view of the costumes and puppetry, and the famous opening procession passes right down the aisles beside you.
The first elevated level — for many fans the best seats for this show: the full sweep of Pride Rock and the opening number, seen whole.
The highest level — the full stage picture from above at the most accessible prices; the big production numbers read beautifully from up here.
Getting there, the running time, and what to know before the curtain rises.

The Lion King runs about two hours and thirty minutes, including one intermission.
Children of all ages are welcome (everyone needs a ticket, regardless of age). Arrive early — the opening number is the one nobody wants to miss, and latecomers are seated at a suitable break.
What to expect, and how you’ll receive them.
The Lion King plays an open-ended Broadway run, typically eight performances a week, with weekend matinees that are the most family-friendly slots — and the first to sell.
